Well, let's talking bout cuisine in Surabaya. Actually i forgot the name (hhehehe) but i tried to find out what kind of food i was eaten during in Surabaya. This is my favorite main dishes :
Soto
almost every space i saw banner with a word "soto" i'll turn back to that shop (hehe). Soto made by sup, slice of chicken, tauge (bean sprouts), bihun (vermicelli) and rempah rempah (spice) for ingredient flavor.
Bakso Sambang Pojok
I'm not sure, but i believe this kind of bakso you just can found at the bromo mountain. Before you climb up bromo, that will have many bakso seller's. First time i thought "mostly the taste of foods that was sold in the tourism spot were not tasty" but totally i wronged. This bakso highly recommended to try especially for those like spicy food.
Nasi jagung, Patin Bakar, Ikan wader, Bothok telur asin and Bothok udang
at Kedai Kincir.
Nasi Jagung, it's a rice with pieces of corn. Ikan wader is small fish, if you ever did fish therapy, yeaah so similar with that kind of fish (hehehe). Patin bakar, yeah it just ordinary bake patin. Bothok telur asin and Bothok udang, Ingredient of bothok are somehow mostly milk squeeze from coconut and seasoning. Frankly speaking i'm not really like bothok. cause its contain santan (milk squeeze from coconut).
Semanggi
You have to try this one, cause now the existence of semanggi difficult to find, no longer sell in the shop. Semanggi similar to Pecel, but inside of this have "semanggi leaf" so that why its called Semanggi.
Pecel
Yes, this is face of "pecel". Actually in my hometown also have pecel, but they have much differences.
This is the last cuisine that you have to try when you come to surabaya, it'll not 'sah' (valid) you ever come to surabaya if you never ate this food. here is it:
Nasi Rawon
I never seen and ate rawon before, so in my head i just describe rawon its like a food with insect inside it and sweet (totally wrong -"-). I was afraid to eat it, but when i tried and tasted, it was delicious. i guest Sumatran people can eat it, cause its spicy and not sweet.
oh yaa. this blog dedicate for kak icha, nhaz and faiza. thanks for welcoming me in Surabaya :)
Another cuisine information i'll update latter...
See you :)
